Big Sky Country
Left early this Austin morning in hopes of finding gatorade somewhere on one of those empty store shelves for my youngest son. Home sick with a stomach bug for days, he needed the basics of which I had none. The drive downtown was eerily quiet . Visually our highways now starting to pop with Texas wildflowers as they stretch into big sky. This is typically one of my favorite times seasons here . With the epic conference SXSW and Spring Break..everything a buzz . The city alive and bursting , day and night with people form all over the world. The Hill Country blooms are revealed for just a short time and often become just pretty backdrop to the human busyness that hits here every Spring. However, during the last major Texas drought they were achingly missed and a reality hit that it sure would suck if they no longer were. Thank Goddess the great MA found her way back through when she was ready. The streets are empty today and things sure look different this year ...I can realIy see the flowers.

I will be sending out more frequent newsletters as our collective situation with Covid-19 rapidly evolves. They will contain support and inspiration. Purposeful guidance to bolster your wellbeing and to be shared with those you love and anyone that may need it. My search for that electrolyte sugar water was far, wide and and by all accounts, fruitless... but my husband succeeded in locating plenty just up the neighborhood hill at the quiet gas station. What I did encounter was a frazzled + fragile cashier at the checkout line on the verge of breaking. She could not acknowledge me in her state so it really was so simple, By shifting all my focus onto her , I gave her what she needed. "How are YOU doing today? Are you OK?!" .. Meeting my gaze she said; "I'm really, really tired. And I actually have to shop for my family as well, but have not been able to and there is almost nothing left" .... Ahhhh... so there it was. What she needed was to be SEEN + HEARD. She deserved that. And because of her my journey was not so fruitless after all.
